Silkpress Xpress was founded on a simple belief -natural hair is not one-size-fits-all.

While much of the industry celebrates the “curly natural” journey, Kalyse recognized that many individuals prefer to wear their natural hair straight. That preference is just as valid and deserves its own space leading to the creation of the term “straight natural.”

Silkpress Xpress was created to provide a refined, judgment-free environment where clients can maintain healthy natural hair while enjoying sleek, consistent results.

We honor individuality, respect personal preference, and deliver an elevated experience rooted in healthy hair and expert technique.

Kalyse, our founder, has been in the cosmetology industry for over 30 years. She is a Master Stylist and a licensed cosmetology educator, bringing experience, advanced training, and a strong focus on efficiency to the foundation of Silkpress Xpress.

At Silkpress Xpress, every professional you encounter has completed formal cosmetology education in addition to our in-house SPX salon training program. This ensures that every service meets our standard of consistency, technique, and healthy hair care.

Our name reflects our commitment to both results and efficiency. Our founder is known for performing a silk press on healthy, properly shaped hair within 30 minutes to an hour. Our goal is to provide a streamlined experience that allows clients to be serviced even during a lunch break without compromising quality.

When booking with us, you have the option to choose the level of salon professional that best fits your needs and preferences. Service times may vary based on experience and skill level.

A Stylist is in the early stages of their career, typically with up to 3 years of experience. They are actively building their portfolio, refining their technique, and improving service timing - all while being guided by SPX standards and education.

A Pro Stylist has between 4 to 7 years of industry experience, or has advanced from within SPX after successfully completing our structured training program. They have demonstrated consistency, efficiency, and a strong command of both foundational and advanced techniques.

A Master Stylist has 8+ years of experience and demonstrates a high level of expertise in cutting, coloring, blow-drying, and overall hair care. At SPX, this level represents professionals who have mastered all Stylist and Pro Stylist competencies and consistently deliver elite results.
